Symptoms of a Bad Transmission Mount

Vehicle engines work at very high speed, small moving parts of the engine that work together. We are talking about thousands of small components that are rattling around in the body of the car. Fortunately, our car transmission system helps to reduce these vibrations, but its transmission mount bracket plays an important part in this role. Without this motor mount which holds the transmission safely, the car would be a lot less comfortable to drive.

Top 4 Bad Transmission Mount Symptoms:

(1) Clunking, Bashing, and Banging Sounds:

If you hear sounds like your engine is trying to break out, this indicates that it is caused due to the loose transmission mount. The Clunking is from metal bashing into metal. As the engine moves, it shifts in position. When the mount is are good they anchor everything securely. When they are giving out, they are no longer able to hold is firm. The weight of the shifting transmission can damage other vital components inside. If the transmission system gets slipped from its normal position then it will start producing clanking sounds which can cause severe damage it this issue is not solved at the time.

(2) Thumping:

When your vehicle mount is worn out then you will notice the thumping sound when you are going over a bump. It is also caused by transmission shifting while driving. The motion is more up and down movement rather than side to side but they are equally dangerous.

(3) Excessive Vibrations:

If your vehicle is shaking your real teeth loose. The vibrations from the engine, if not correctly managed, can become intense. It will not only prove uncomfortable for passengers but also distracting for the driver.

(4) Chassis Flex:

It is something that might take to develop. If you haven’t notice that something is wrong by the time that this has happened. The shifts in weight can cause a flexing of the vehicle frame. Over time, this can cause the frame to become misshapen, and doors might not be as well aligned as they were previously.
