3 Common Symptoms of Low Engine Oil in Your Car

Car Engines needs lubrication for their moving parts inside the engine to avoid friction between these components, for this purpose engine oil is used  but as time goes on small amount of oil burnt away and sometimes it get leaked due to any kind of break in the seal of the engine. That’s why changing the engine oil at regular interval is an important part of the car maintenance, but there are some people who show carelessness about changing the engine oil of their vehicle, they see the level of engine oil decline which could further leads to serious and permanent damage to your engine.

Top 3 Signs of Having a Low Volume of Engine Oil:

1 Oil Pressure Light:

Modern vehicle of these days are equipped with the sensor which monitor the engine oil level of your vehicle, if you see oil pressure warning light on your infotainment system turned on, then its mean that the level of engine oil is decreased, you also need to check the cause which decrease the engine oil level mostly leakage in the seals of the engine or if rings of the piston worn out then engine oil volume decreased because ring pistons prevent engine oil to go combustion chamber but when ring pistons are worn out oil goes toward combustion chamber and get burnt which also give a sign of smoke in the exhaust. If this is the case with you then go to your car dealer to repair your engine as soon as possible, driving vehicle in that state could cause serious and permanent damage.

2 Smell of Burning Oil:

If you feel burning smell when you open bonnet after driving and engine is in hot state, this could mean that there is any kind of oil leakage in your engine because the when the drops of oil fell on the hot component of the engine, the heat burnt the oil and give stingy smell. If you find this symptom in your vehicle quickly turn off your engine and with the help of the dipstick check the level of the engine oil, if the level of oil is low then it further prove that there is some kind of leakage in the seals of the engine.

3 Knocking Sound:

This is the final sign that comes after two points which I already mentioned above, you continued to drive your vehicle with the initial signs which I mentioned above and don’t maintain the level of engine oil for prolonged duration this could lead to the knocking sound, this sound produce when level of engine oil get lowered and oil don’t lubricate the moving parts of the engine especially piston and rod, friction between these parts become so high that they start producing sound at the very high RPM, if you still ignore the these signs this lead to engine get burnt and over hauling of engine will cost you heavy amount.
