Tires play a crucial role by maintaining the vehicle with the road. However, they do not remain in the tip top condition all the time and they usability is reduced. Here are five signs your tires need to be replaced.

  • Flats

Tires can lose air over time. Even if a tire has gone flat once or twice does not indicate you need to rush towards its replacement. In case your tires can’t seem to hold the proper amount of air or they go completely flat, it is time you order new tires.

If you are getting flats often, it is a good idea to have your wheel or “rim” inspected.

  • Low Tread

Safety on the road is important today. Tires with low or no tread are a safety hazard.  They impact the traction of your tires, which can lead to accidents.

Traffic accidents incur huge costs upon us. In addition to costing us extra travel time, they cost us lives. Even if it does not cost lives, it still leads to expensive repairs. Many people try to make their last as long as possible and allow them to lose most of their tread before getting replaced.

Do not try to do this and regularly measure your tire tread.

  • Unexplained Bad Mileage

Low gas mileage is a major concern for many drivers. Many people try to decrease the fuel consumption of their cars by finding the reasons. However, worn out tires can cost you in gas mileage. Regularly check your tires with a gauge to measure air. You can save money on fuel if you see that tires are not in proper shape.

  • Tire Bumps

Have you experienced any bumps or bulges in your tires, that is probably the part of inside has been broken or become warped. However, it is not unusual. These are not life-threatening and many drivers have succeeded in driving thousands of miles on them without any problems. However, these are still a risk and it is advised to replace these tires with new ones.

  • Cracks

Over the time, as the tires get older they will develop cracks all around.  You will most obviously notice them in the sidewall of the tire. At first, they will seem just minor cracks. However, over the time they will stretch and expand to the other surfaces of the tire.
